Using DISH Anywhere

USING DISH ANYWHERE

Only DISH Anywhere lets you access all of your live TV channels and everything saved to

your DVR while on the go via your Internet-connected computer, smartphone or tablet.

You can:

• Click once and you are watching your local news, live sports and favorite shows using

your PC or a connected mobile device.

• Search for program information and schedule DVR recordings

• Manage all your favorite shows and series while away from home

• Instantly access and watch thousands of On Demand TV shows and movies,

including select free content from certain networks in your programming subscription

such as Starz and EPIX, as well as other titles for rent.

And all you need is a working broadband Internet connection to your Hopper with Sling HD

DVR. And DISH Anywhere is included with your DISH service at no additional cost. For

1 Connect your system to broadband Internet. See Connecting to Broadband Internet on

page 97. You can verify your connection on the Broadband screen in Network Settings.

2 Log into the dishonline.com website on your computer, or download and install our free

DISH Anywhere mobile app to use on your smartphone or tablet.

3 Enjoy watching your live TV and recordings from your DVR wherever you go!

Apps for Mobile Use

Several apps are available for use on your mobile devices to enhance your viewing

experience. In addition to the free DISH Anywhere app described above, others include:

Hopper Transfers™—This free app for the iPad

allows you to sideload (transfer) select

recorded content quickly and easily from your Hopper with Sling HD DVR to an iPad using

your Home Network. After this quick transfer is complete, no internet connection or mobile

data usage is required for playback and unlimited number of times on your iPad anywhere

you go, and the these transferred recordings will never expire. You can ensure that

mobile-optimized versions of recordings are set up automatically when you schedule DVR

timers on your DISH system. A few minutes after the recording ends, you’re ready to go!

DISH Explorer™—This free touchscreen-optimized app complements your programming

with additional content and interactivity. You can easily discover what’s worth watching in

real time and tune in on your Hopper with Sling HD DVR. You can interact with a show

through its live Twitter feed or get enhanced sports stats and excitement ratings from

Thuuz™. You can engage and share with friends on Facebook, view social analytics to

see what others are talking about, and know what’s popular via viewer metrics. And you

can completely control the playback of a show, using a familiar on-screen version of your

DISH remote control.
